Her lips are purplish even though her smile is genuine, the burn from the rope makes her hard to look at and Blake’s guilt undoubtedly washes over him as they kneel down to pray for what we assume is the final time. Most players, including myself, entered the school’s kitchen area to find a young Jessica with a vicious bruise around her neck and the pale visage of a person who died by hanging. But there’s more to the ending outside of the mysterious birth (which we’re hoping Red Barrels eventually gives definitive answers to), there’s also Blake’s final vision of Jessica, his childhood friend. With everyone falling victim to the experiment, it’s possible that it was one huge, shared hallucination. This would help explain how Lynn went from perfectly healthy and decidedly not pregnant to giving birth in what appears to be only a matter of days in Outlast 2’s story. In the past, Murkoff’s experiments led women to develop psychosomatic pregnancies that came across as quite real even though there was nothing there. When all is said and done, it’s difficult to decipher if there was ever any baby at all. It’s next to impossible to trust what Blake witnesses in the latter half of the game as his mind and memories are warped and he falls under the control of something else. This is after discovering all of the mind-control experiments that the Murkoff Corporation (who you may remember as being the people behind the nightmares of the first game) have been carrying out in the area. After fighting through the isolated, rural Arizona area, Blake’s wife gives birth to a baby before dying. Then after finishing off with Murkoff, as a friend stated, they can make a new Outlast with new characters and situations.Outlast 2 has a lot of things going on with its story and it all makes for one interesting ending, which is possibly one of the more confusing video game endings of the year thus far. Just wanna play the games and this Murkoff or Walrider chronicles. There was a 2 year gap to Outlast and Outlast:Whistleblower to bring Outlast 2. And, this time, I hope it doesn’t take them so long to make Outlast 3. It would be cool if we come across Blake holding nothing and Jenny going, “You don’t have baby, just come with me.” and the game ends. I nicknamed this entity “Engorged Walrider” or “The Engorged.” It would be interesting to meet this creature head on as Zeichner Facility grows critical mass and we see the ending of Outlast 2 in a different way.
Knoth seems to talk to a Walrider like entity. However, this Walrider may be different than the one we met in Outlast. This also allow the Walrider to come back. This would be good because we can then see what and who are Lucid Dreamers. Her part of the story may actually encounter the the 3 Lucid Dreamers that were mentioned in Outlast:Whistleblower. Jenny Roland appears in Outlast and she can have a role in The Towers. The other character they can follow is Jenny Roland. This would bring out the psychological aspects of Outlast 2 but bring that side of the story out. Jessica as a girl tries to help her but a part of her, or the part that Lynn is afraid of what Jessica thinks of her and even the slightly flirty relationship with Blake may make a Jessica demon. This would mean Lynn may also encounter Loutermilch demon in a different way or who knows she may even encounter Jessica demon. Both making up excuses not to engage in that way. In fact, she may even know Blake knows a bit and they both have been keeping this secret which, ultimately, brings a strain in their marriage and they don’t get sexually intimate for a long time. Does he feel guilty when Jessica dies? Yes. Jessica may have told her and not to tell anyone. I have a feeling that Lynn also knew that Jessica was being abused by Loutermilch or that suspected it. Seeing Blake says that Lynn treated Jessica as a little sister it would be possible Lynn knows things that Blake doesn’t know about. When Blake mentions Jessica Lynn gives a pretty ‘cryptic’ and ‘casual’ sort of smile and says “I haven’t thought about her in ages.” I actually doubt this statement. We know Blake’s thoughts and feelings about Jessica. If DLC of Outlast follows 2 characters it would make more sense. There are also some other things that bug me that I may address in my own fanfiction but would be good to bring to DLC. It was rumoured it will be called Outlast: Excommunication. Well, I hope Outlast 2 DLC comes out quick.
